Facilities of the Center

Located on the grounds of the Church of the Holy Ascension of our Lord, a metochion dependency of the Monastery of Simon Petras of the Holy Mount Athos, the Hellenic Centre for Biomedical Ethics offers a standard of excellence for its meetings and events, conveniently situated just above the Hilton area of central Athens.

On the first floor, there is a superb conference room geared toward smaller, intimate meetings including access to the latest technologies for video presentations, teleconferencing and other services.
The ground floor contains an auditorium for up to seventy attendants. In-house professional quality audio-visual systems, including teleconferencing and projection support the Centre's mission for disseminating knowledge.
Adjacent to the auditorium is the Centre's library, containing publications and an archive of official documents from bioethics committees and organizations world-wide, as well as DVDs, videotapes and other pertinent materials on relevant topics. A vast collection of Greek Orthodox Patristic literature enriches its holdings.

Also supporting the Centre's activities is a computer network consisting of fully integrated PC and Macintosh machines, a central server, scanners, printers and photocopy equipment..
